What is the Voluntary Carbon Market?

Last Update 2 jaar geleden

The Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) is a system where businesses or groups can voluntarily buy and sell carbon credits, which aren't required by law. It lets businesses balance out their pollution by buying carbon credits. These credits come from different projects that reduce greenhouse gases, like renewable energy, making things more energy-efficient, planting new trees, or capturing and using methane gas from landfills or farming. The VCM is becoming more popular as more people want to address climate change by voluntarily lowering their pollution and making up for pollution they can't avoid. It also lets businesses show they care about the environment and are trying to lessen their impact.
